Sarah Getrude Millin. Författarinna. 1889-1968.

Sarah föddes i Litauen och flyttade som barn med sina föräldrar till Sydafrika. Familjen hette Liebson och namnet Millin fick Sarah när hon gifte sig med domaren Philip Millin.

Hon tillbringade mycket tid i Kimberley där hon började skriva i tidningen The State. År 1920 publicerade hon sin första novell (The Dark River), som snart följdes av flera.

Hon slog igenom med God’s Stepchildren (1924) och Mary Glenn (1925). Många av hennes berättelser utspelar sig vid diamantgruvorna. Hon skrev också biografier över Cecil Rhodes och general Jan Christian Smuts, samt flera böcker om andra världskriget.
